240Z Diffs

Postby tassiezeds on Sun Jun 20, 2010 4:09 am

Hey all, have just heard that a local Z racer has put a Subaru R180 diff into his 240Z racer. Dont know all the details but apparently its quite straight forward. A more plentiful supply of younger diffs, generally in better condition, with a choice of ratios. He fitted a 4.1 as his 3.9 is a bit tall in places and the 4.4 too low. Not sure if its an LSD though. Still, for a road car an open diff is fine. And if, like me, you have a fine collection of worn out diffs that at best require substantial expenditure...

Hello , I didnt think it would be news news but it might spread the word or spark some discussion on this forum !!!. Theres a 240Z for sale in the English mag. Classic and Sportscar with the advert citing an R200. In a 240Z?? never heard of such a thing as ex factory as the advert implies. I know I have a 4.1 R180 that I tried to put in my 260Z. Even using the right mustache bar, it still sheared bolts and nearly fell off the car. Literally. Musta done something wrong??? Might just sell it to a 4 cylinder Datto racer who wants a CIG locker!...cheerz
