Unleaded petrol phased out

As of july 2011 91 ron unleaded petrol will be phased out and E10 ethenol will be a replacement or premium fuel at a higher cost .They say E10 is not suited to pre 1986 models built. My z31 is a 1986 model also E10 may cause damage to the engine on early models or maybe mine .I have used E10 once when there was no unleaded avalible at a sevo i whould use Premium all the time if it wasn't so expensive what about the early zeds whats your idea's.

Hey Gordon I only use 98 octane in my 280zx and with triple Webers I probably use quite a bit - the secret is don't keep count. I enjoy driving the Yellow Peril so much I just don't let the price bother me

I use E10 95 octain without issue in my Z31. The trick is to use a servo with a hight turnover rate as the ethanol absorbs water, so the quicker it is replaced the less chance of detomation and gumming up injectors. be prepaired to change your fuel filter shortly after you make the switch as the ethanol will disolve lots of crap in tour tank and fuel lines, sending it through to the filter.
